■Statement

私は植物を主なモチーフとして、「終わりと始まり」あるいは「死と生」をテーマに制作している。

​

植物は、長い制作時間のなかで枯れ、変化し、ときに新たな芽を出す。

その循環する姿には、「終わり」と「始まり」が常に同居している。

私は「他者」である植物を見つめ続けることで、自分自身の存在を確かめている。

制作の過程で生まれる認識や時間の痕跡は、小さな歴史として画面に蓄積されていく。

私にとって絵画制作とは、「他者」を通して「自己」を認識する行為であると同時に、「自己」と「他者」、「生」と「死」の境界について思考し、その輪郭を越えていこうとする試みである。

My work explores themes of “endings and beginnings” and “life and death.”

​

I primarily paint plants, which continue to wither, transform, and sometimes sprout new buds throughout the long process of painting.

Within these changing forms, endings and beginnings coexist simultaneously.

By continuing to observe plants as “others,” I attempt to recognize my own existence.

The perceptions and traces of time accumulated through the act of painting are recorded on the surface as a small personal history.

For me, painting is both a way of recognizing the self through the presence of others, and an attempt to question and move beyond the boundaries between self and other, life and death.
